Wet socks frogs and lizards

Review submitted by Richard Pescod
Review date 7 Sep 2010

There is a certain tranquillity gained squatting in the mud as the heavens open routinely in the afternoon. My socks will not be dry until I reach San Jose again but I’m as happy as mudskipper catching frogs and lizards; striding along paths through the forest searching for monkeys and avoiding the ants, or cooking rice and black beans. I am not the usual volunteer for Costa Rica; more a mini career break than a gap year as the grey encroaching my hair states. Was it worthwhile? Would I go back? A simple yes.
