I have been at camp a week now and it’s been a great time. The forest is full of amazing sights and wildlife. So far we have seen different species of lemur, chameleon, small mammals, geckos and countless birds. We have learned and utilized many different techniques to observe and capture wildlife. My favorite so far are the early morning bird walks when the birds are the most active and I can learn the different calls. I am enjoying the other methods as well including sherman traps, pitfall traps, reptile collection and mist netting for birds. This morning within 30 minutes we caught six different species of birds. We also spend time outside of the forest in the local villages. We played football against a local team and taught English in the local school.
