Back to School in Cambodia

After an amazing time at the beach in the beautiful Ko Chang, we made our way to Siem Reap to begin our four week teaching placement at the Self Help Community Centre. Prior to the placement we had time to explore the fantastic temples at Angkor Wat. A three day pass allowed us to see the beautiful ancient city of Angkor at sunrise, the incredible and unique Bayon and Ta Prohm temples which were littered with enormous trees creeping through the rubble. We even had time to visit the Beatney Srey temple, constructed by women at the time.
We have explored Siem Reap sampling traditional Khmer food. We have just finished our first week of teaching English, Art and Farming to the local children. It is a rural school but the teachers are very supportive and the children are so eager to learn. We are really looking forward to the next three weeks with the kids! Cambodia never fails to amaze and you never know what is going to happen next!!
