Conservation Research & Outreach Intern


Starting in November 2019 An internship that will allow you to gain experience in social media marketing and promoting conservation research and outreach; development of sponsorship and promotional activities; development of website copy and online marketing output; coordinating field project marketing strategy; the development of tropical research programmes; the identification of funding and work opportunities

General Outline of the Role

-      Provide support to the Research & Development Manager and Marketing Manager

-      Act as a liaison between Field Project staff and the Marketing and Research Departments

-      Work with Field Projects to Develop Marketing Strategies

-      Research and develop methods of digital marketing aimed at reach and engagement with Frontier’s demographic

-      Ensure Field Projects are meeting social media quotas

-      Help to compile and edit science reports and newsletters

-      Update the website with new research and marketing reports and initiatives

-      Follow and report on online trends and tailor content accordingly

-      Seek out new relationships for promotional campaigns.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

-      Ensuring projects hit their quotas for social media posts

-      Strategising new social media campaigns and posts with the marketing department and the field staff

-      Production of the quarterly newsletter regarding projects and publications

-      Assist with the Co-ordination of Country Co-ordinators and overseas development and fundraising activities

-      Communicating with Field Staff Members and the Marketing Team to develop Social Media and Online Marketing Strategy

-      Submit weekly popular science articles for online publication

-      Assist with design of graphics, images and video content for marketing purposes

-      Preparation and distribution of reports and manuscripts

-      Update references database and file new references

-      Utilisation of data for production of review materials with an aim of producing articles and manuscripts for publication

-      Develop relationships with relevant national and international bodies to further improve upon the work carried out by Frontier

-      Source new sponsorships for projects, including support of field staff to secure in-country sponsors and production of publicity materials for sponsors
