WHAT DOES THE PROJECT DO?

This project is perfect if you want to improve your career prospects, make travel easier throughout Latin America or want access to the countless masterpieces that have been written in Spanish. If you speak Spanish you can communicate with 500 million people in the world!

Spanish is the world's third most spoken language, after Chinese and English, and ranks second in terms of native speakers. At the end of the 19th Century, 60 million people were Spanish speakers. Today, nearly 500 million people across the world speak Spanish. Indeed, Spanish is the second most used language in international communication, and is an official language of the UN and its organisations.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

After waking up to the hustle and bustle of the lively Bocas del Toro and gorging on a delicious Central American style breakfast you will head down to the school to begin your language tuition. Taught by an experienced teacher you will get an excellent introduction to this elegant language, picking up on colloquialisms whilst mastering your pronunciation. In class exercises, reading, writing, and grammar will all be covered, ensuring that you grasp the fundamentals before moving on to more complex constructions and subjects as your confidence builds.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?

You will be met upon arrival at Bocas del Toro Airport by a friendly local staff member and escorted to your accommodation in the main town. You will have time to settle in and get acclimatised before receiving orientation to the country, local surroundings and of course your project. Your in-country coordinator will be more than happy to help you with any questions you have and you'll feel at home in no time in this friendly, vibrant community. Please aim to arrive on the Sunday.

If you would prefer we can arrange an airport arrival package from Panama City at a cost of USD $240, please speak to your Frontier Advisor for further information.

WHERE WILL I BE STAYING?

You will be staying in shared dormitory style accommodation at a friendly, local guesthouse where you will have the opportunity to experience the real Panama. You will be located close to the language school.

WHAT WILL I BE EATING?

Food is not provided as part of this programme. This is a fun element of travelling away from home as it gives you that added freedom and is a good opportunity to bond with fellow travellers while exploring local restaurants and market stalls! You will get the opportunity to tantalise your taste buds with local delicacies including crisp meat filled empanada pastries and heavenly spicy stews, doused in a fusion of Caribbean and South American flavours and washed down with locally brewed balboa cerveza, enjoyed on the waterside.
