Peru Amazon Rainforest 5 days tour

Peru Amazon Rainforest 5 days tour

Through these 5 days Amazon Rainforest Tour, you will be immersed into the Peruvian Rainforest and learn about local culture and biodiversity conservation practices.

Prices from $1,895

The Amazon rainforest is home to more than half of the world’s 10 million species of plants, animals and insects, and one-fifth of the world’s fresh water, with more than 20% of the world’s oxygen being produced here. Today, the Amazon faces deforestation at an alarming rate and if this trend continues it could be wiped out by the end of this century. We are losing 137 plants, animal and insect species everyday due to deforestation; that equates to 50,000 species a year!

The work of volunteers and interns in support to researchers and scientists can contribute to restore the wildlife and biodiversity of the rainforest, and contribute to its rebirth! Today more than ever it is crucial for us to gather in a communal action and help support the efforts to create more protected areas and spread the word of environmental and animal conservation.

Through these 5 days Amazon Rainforest Tour, you will be immersed into the Peruvian Rainforest and learn about local culture and biodiversity conservation practices. All while contributing to conservation and community projects in progress. This experience will not last only 5 days but will transform the way you see the world and nature, and contribute to an ambitious conservation project!

The aim of the Amazon Rainforest Tour is to promote conservation and sustainable practices with the help of international volunteers.  It provides you with the opportunity to travel to one of the most bio diverse and breath-taking parts of the world to immerse yourself in conservation and community projects.

The 5 days tour will contribute to the promotion of ecotourism and secure a better future for people and nature. By walking into the rainforest, you will have experience of  conservation, climate change and poverty. In other words, this tour will transform the way you think about the world and inspire a long term passion for the rainforest.

In the 5 days Amazon Rainforest tour, you will be given a deep insight into the rainforest where you will have the possibility to explore and learn more about local cultures, the jungle environment and get involved to the conservation projects in progress.

Each day will be dedicated to a different activity.  The set of these activities will contribute to a more extensive experience throughout the territory in order to appreciate the diversity of its wildlife!

You will be surprised how a 5 days full immersion into the Amazon Rainforest will be incredibly rewarding and bring lifetime lasting memories!

You will need to arrive in Cusco the day before your tour begins and stay here over night. Your tour will start early the next day when you are picked up from your Cusco accommodation to journey over the Andes Mountains and through the forest to your eco-lodge base.

You will be spending the majority of your time in a fabulous Eco-Lodge in the heart of the Peruvian rainforest which boasts a solar powered internet connection, an environmentally sound septic system and gravity fed water pumps; all helping to minimise the centre’s impact on the environment.

Lodges consist of 6 thatched buildings with two single beds in each pod, and have been beautifully constructed in keeping with their surroundings. There is a dining and relaxation area with tables and a few armchairs, as well as a library and covered hammock area to wind-down after a hard day’s work.

All food is provided for, which includes three meals a day of pancakes, omelettes, fruit, rice, potatoes, beans, meat and vegetables. Other food and snacks may be purchased from a nearby town.

Flights are not included in our trip costs. However, we have partnered with an experienced and professional team of travel experts to help our volunteers find the best flight deals for their trips with us. This travel specialist operates in the tailor-made, long haul multi-stop travel market, arranging complex airfares and transfers for independent travellers. They provide expertise, security and a vast product range along with a Travel Butler service which is a single point of contact and support whilst you are overseas.

We recommend that you obtain a quote using the following contact details rather than book online, as our partner will offer you the most competitive fares. To receive your quote or to seek any advice for your flights, please contact our dedicated team of travel experts on 0800 082 9994 (or +44 800 082 9994 outside the UK) or email frontier@flightcentre.co.uk .

For fast, efficient and up-to-date visa advice please contact our recommended visa consultancy partner:

Depending on your destination country and your country of origin, you might require a visa. Please see the appropriate country consular website for details or contact our affiliate visa consultancy service. Please note that your visa will usually start on the date that you enter the destination country regardless of when it was issued. Please check with the relevant embassy or high commission. If you are purchasing your visa or paying entry/exit fees in-country you will probably need to pay in US Dollars. If you have any questions please consult the relevant embassy or high commission. Please check the visa information regularly, as changes often happen without warning.

You'll need to buy appropriate travel insurance covering your participation on the project. You won't be able to go without the right travel insurance so double check to avoid disappointment. Please make sure that you're covered for the whole duration of your trip – from the day you leave the UK to the day you return. It's also best to get your travel insurance at the same time as paying the deposit for your project. Depending on your policy, this will cover you for any unexpected cancellations.

Your insurance should include the following:

  • Medical cover, including medical emergencies and medical evacuations (up to USD$3,000,000 / GBP£2,000,000);
  • Personal liability (up to USD$1,500,000 / GBP£1,000,000);
  • Cancellation and curtailment of your trip (up to the value of your project contribution).

If you are going to be scuba diving you should get coverage for scuba diving up to 30m, including hyperbaric therapy treatment (unlimited). You should consider obtaining insurance to cover you for any additional activities which you plan to do during, before, or after your Frontier project. We recommend that you obtain cover for your baggage and personal effects.

Frontier Partner Projects and Frontier group projects are run in partnership with in-country NGOs, small community based organisations, local research institutes, academic organisations and conservation agencies. Project descriptions and information are supplied directly by our partners or field staff and are accurate at time of publishing.

We aim to keep information up to date and accurate, however, the nature of our projects and in particular the fact that they are constantly evolving and developing in response to changing needs means that project activities, travel schedules, tour itineraries and daily timetables can change overnight and without notice.
